چکیده

Neoseiulus Hughes is one of the most diverse genus Phytoseiidae, with approximately 400 described species. Among them, tunus (De Leon) very frequent and abundant in Neotropical region. Although considerable amount data about morphological variation phytoseiid mites are available, possible causes intraspecific variations still poorly understood, being diet feeding habit usually reported as main drivers. The present study investigated influence three different diets on traits taxonomic interest N. tunus, aiming to verify whether a determinant factor pattern this species which structures affected by them. Our results show that based treatment, populations may be differentiated size traits. All treatments differ from stock population among except between Aculops lycopersici (Massee) (Eriophyidae) Tetranychus urticae (Kock) (Tetranychidae). widest range occurred dorsal setae, macrosetae leg IV, width shield, distance bases genital’s setae posterior ventrianal shield. Most responded treatment significant variation, longest lengths observed when A. was offered diet. Considering other two diets, does not clear increasing or reducing pattern.

Two new species of the genus Neoseiulus Hughes (Acari: Phytoseiidae) from greece with re-description of Neoseiulus leucophaeus (Athias-Henriot).

Two new species, Neoseiulus elisiensis n. sp. and Neoseiulus neomarginatus n. sp., are described from Greece. Neoseiulus leucophaeus (Athias-Henriot) is re-described and illustrated based on specimens collected on Thymelaea hirsuta (L.) Endl. A key to all species of the genus Neoseiulus Hughes reported from Greece is provided.

Life history of Neoseiulus californicus (McGregor, 1954) (Acari: Phytoseiidae) fed with castor bean (Ricinus communis L.) pollen in laboratory conditions.

The predatory mite, Neoseiulus californicus (McGregor, 1954) (Acari: Phytoseiidae) is one of the principal natural enemies of tetranychid mites in several countries, promoting efficient control of those mites in several food and ornamental crops. Pest attacks such as that of the spider mite, Tetranychus urticae Koch, 1836 (Acari: Tetranychidae), is one of the problems faced by farmers, especial...

Spectrum-specific UV egg damage and dispersal responses in the phytoseiid predatory mite Neoseiulus californicus (Acari: Phytoseiidae).

Solar ultraviolet-B (UVB) radiation is deleterious to plant-dwelling mites. Neoseiulus californicus (McGregor) is a predominant predator of agriculturally important pest species of spider mite. However, phytoseiid mites are more vulnerable to UVB radiation than spider mites. Thus, the UVB radiation may influence decision making in foraging phytoseiid mites whether disperse or not. We tested the...

Biology, Predation, and Life Table of Cydnoseius negevi and Neoseiulus barkeri (Acari: Phytoseiidae) on the Old World Date Mite, Oligonychus afrasiaticus (Acari: Tetranychidae)

The old world date mite, Oligonychus afrasiaticus (McGregor) (Acari: Tetranychidae) is a severe spider mite pest of date palm in most of the Middle East and North Africa. Considering that nothing is known about the performance of phytoseiid predators against O. afrasiaticus, biology, predation, and life table parameters of Cydnoseius negevi (Swirski and Amitai) and Neoseiulus barkeri Hughes (Ac...

innate and acquired response of neoseiulus barkeri and neoseiulus californicus (acari: phytoseiidae) to spider mite induced plant volatiles

predators may adjust their foraging behavior according to herbivore induced plant volatiles innately or through learning. here, first we investigated whether the phytoseiid predatory mites, neoseiulus californicus and n. barkeri were innately able to respond to odors related to tetranychus urticae infested bean leaves. the naïve predator females were reared on washed t. urticae as prey on filte...
